A Newcom kill gave UC a 3-1 advantage early in the first set.  The two teams traded points before Jolly connected with Bryant and Zampedri for kills as part of four-point Patriot run extending their lead to 11-4.  It went back-and-forth before a Zampedri kill sparked a six-point Patriots run that featured a trio of aces from Zampedri to make it 19-7. Martina Frangella added a late kill as Cumberlands took the first set 15-11.

The Lions jumped out to a 5-2 lead in the second set, however, three-straight points including a Morgan Bentel ace tied the score. Cumberlands utilized an eight-point run, that included a pair of aces from Bryant to take the 14-7 lead.  UC added a 9-2 run to extend the lead to 23-13. A couple points later Alana Shiery and Bryant added kills to take the second set 25-15 and the 2-0 lead.

The two teams traded points in the third set until Cumberlands scored ten unanswered points to take the 17-10 lead.  UC tallied a trio of blocks to go along with a trio of aces on that run.  Zampedri and Newcom added kills to inch the Patriots closer, before Newcom and Frangella combined for a block taking the set 25-14 and the 3-0 sweep.
