Bowling Green, KY – Following a strong performance at the Great Louisville Classic, Jule Krauss was named the Mid-South Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, conference officials announced Monday.

The Holzgerlingen, Germany native led the Patriots in the Women's Gold 5K on Saturday, crossing the finish line in a career-best 18:50.5. Krauss placed 69th overall in a competitive field that featured runners from programs across the NCAA and NAIA.

Krauss' performance helped Cumberlands finish 21st out of 24 teams with 540 points. The freshman was the first Patriot across the finish line and continued her strong start to her collegiate career.

The honor marks the first MSC Runner of the Week award of Krauss' career and the second conference weekly honor for the Patriots women this season, joining Lea Kunstmann.

Krauss and the Patriots return to competition on Friday, October 23, at the NAIA Appalachian Challenge in Knoxville, Tennessee.
