Williamsburg, KY – University of the Cumberlands Women's Basketball Head Coach
Rick Reeves has announced the Patriots' 2026-27 schedule, which features 28 regular-season contests, including 18 games inside the O. Wayne Rollins Center. This year's schedule features five teams that the Patriots will face for the first time in program history.
Cumberlands opens the season with six straight home games, beginning with the Patriot Classic on October 22-23. UC tips off the year against UT Southern on Thursday, October 22, at 7 p.m., before taking on The Master's University the following day. It will be the first meeting between the Patriots and the Mustangs.
"We wanted to challenge ourselves early and we'll be tested with five non-conference games against teams that advanced to national tournament," said Coach Reeves.
The Patriots remain in Williamsburg the following week to host Simmons (Oct. 29) and Virginia Lynchburg (Oct. 31). UC's second Patriot Classic is slated for November 5-6 as Cumberlands welcomes Spring Arbor before squaring off with Milligan at 11 a.m. the following day. Both these teams qualified for the NAIA National Tournament last season.
Cumberlands' lengthy season-opening homestand continues against Alice Lloyd on November 12 before facing the defending NAIA National Champion Marian on November 15. UC closes the nine-game homestand against Union Commonwealth on November 17.
"We've always had great crowds and an incredible atmosphere at home over the past few years and we're excited to play some tough games in front of our home crowds," Coach Reeves added.
Later that week, UC will hit the road to face Brescia on November 21. The Patriots return home three days later to host IU Southeast on November 24
th.
December begins with back-to-back home contests as UC hosts Saint Mary-of-the-Woods on Dec. 1 and Cincinnati-Clermont on Dec. 2.
The Patriots then head south for a pair of road contests in the Sunshine State. UC will face New College of Florida on Dec. 15 before traveling to Babson Park to take on Webber International on Dec. 17. UC closes the 2026 portion of its schedule with an exhibition against NCAA Division I Tennessee Tech.
The Patriots open the new year at home against Miami-Hamilton on January 2 before turning their attention to Mid-South Conference play. UC opens its conference slate against Freed-Hardeman on Jan. 7.
"The MSC is one of the toughest conferences in the NAIA. We had six teams reach the national tournament last year and could have that again this year," said Coach Reeves.
Cumberlands then hits the road for three straight MSC contests, traveling to Lindsey Wilson (Jan. 9), Campbellsville (Jan. 14), and Cumberland (Jan. 16). The Patriots return to Williamsburg to host Bethel on Jan. 21 before traveling to Georgetown two days later. UC closes January at home against Lindsey Wilson on January 30.
February opens with a pair of road contests in Tennessee as the Patriots face Freed-Hardeman on Feb. 4 and Bethel on Feb. 6. Cumberlands then returns to the Rollins Center for its final three regular-season games. UC hosts Georgetown on February 11 and Cumberland on February 13 before closing the regular season against Campbellsville on Thursday, February 18.
