#6 Patriots Launch Four Homers in 19-0 Shutout of Siena Heights

Williamsburg, KY – The #6 Patriots erupted for four home runs and 21 hits in a dominant 19-0 shutout victory over Siena Heights in the series opener Friday afternoon. Cumberlands improves to 7-0 overall on the season and remains unbeaten at Doyle Buhl Stadium.

Wesley Culley earned the win on the mound, improving to 2-0 after tossing five scoreless innings while allowing just two hits and striking out seven. Brayden Stewart was lights out in relief, throwing two shutout innings and striking out four to secure the combined shutout.

At the plate, Caden Petrey led the offensive explosion, going 3-for-4 with a home run, five RBI, and three runs scored. Sebastian De La Cruz also drove in five runs, finishing 3-for-4 with a double. Derick Andiarena went a perfect 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBI, while Pedro Vasquez added a three-run homer in the win.

The Patriots wasted no time jumping out front, scoring five runs on six hits in the bottom of the first inning. Dariel Castillo led off with a triple before Andiarena drove him in with an RBI single. Petrey followed with a two-run single to push the lead to 3-0. Vasquez added an RBI groundout, and De La Cruz capped the inning with an RBI single to give UC a 5-0 advantage.

Cumberlands broke things wide open in the second inning. Andiarena launched a solo home run to left field to extend the lead. Later in the frame, Petrey doubled home a run before Vasquez crushed a three-run homer to center field, stretching the advantage to 10-0.

After a scoreless third, the Patriots struck again in the fourth. Petrey connected for a two-run home run to left field before De La Cruz and Clay Shelton delivered RBI hits to make it 14-0.

UC continued to apply pressure in the fifth inning. With two runners on, De La Cruz roped a three-run double to right-center field to add to the lead. Later in the inning, Justin Veloz was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to bring home another run and extend the advantage to 18-0.

Canaan Browning put the finishing touches on the performance in the sixth inning with his first career home run, blasting a pinch-hit solo shot to left field to give the Patriots their fourth long ball of the afternoon and make it 19-0.

Siena Heights was limited to just two hits on the day as the Patriots pitching staff recorded 11 strikeouts in the shutout victory.

UC will continue the three-game series against Siena Heights on Saturday in Williamsburg. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET at Doyle Buhl Stadium.
