Rome, GA – The #8 Patriots closed out their run at the ITA National Indoor Championship in strong fashion Sunday morning, defeating No. 5 Lindsey Wilson 4–2 to secure a fifth-place finish at the Rome Tennis Center. 

The Patriots grabbed the doubles point after taking two of three courts. Gabriele Solda and Darius Kuster opened with a 6–4 win at No. 1 doubles, while Mohammed Abuzed Saber and Jacopo Cianfarini delivered a decisive 6–1 victory at the No. 3 spot to clinch the early advantage. 

Singles play proved competitive throughout, but Cumberlands showed resilience in key moments. Gabriele Solda earned a three-set win at No. 3 singles (6–1, 3–6, 6–4), swinging momentum back to the Patriots after Lindsey Wilson claimed the top two singles courts. Kesia Roi then showed a hard-fought three-set triumph at No. 5 singles, rallying for a 6–3, 5–7, 7–5 decision.  

The deciding point came at No. 6 singles, where Mohammed Abuzed Saber battled through a three-set match to clinch the win for Cumberlands, rallying past Aldo Randazzo 6–3, 6–7, 7–6 to seal the 4–2 result and lock in the Patriots' fifth-place finish. 

UC will be back in action on Saturday, February 21, where they are set to travel to Lawerenceville, GA to compete in the Grizzly Invitational, hosted by Georgia Gwinnett. Their first match is set to begin at 9:00 AM against SCAD-Savannah.
