Lake Wales, FL – The third-ranked Cumberlands women's lacrosse had 13 different players net at least one goal as they defeated Warner 23-2 to close out their three-game road trip Monday night. With the win, the Patriots improve to 5-0 on the year, while the Royals moved to 2-1.
Kaitlyn Friel led the way for UC with five goals and six points, while
Anna Lobbezoo tallied four goals, two assists, and a pair of caused turnovers. Four Pats recorded two goals, while Lenora Devries added four assists, nine draw controls and three ground balls.
Emma Rittman scooped a team-best seven ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Mikayla Kimsey notched four saves in the win.
Warner controlled the possession early taking three shots in the opening minutes of the game, however,

Anna Lobbezoo won the draw control and found
Audrey Donaldson for a goal to make it 1-1 with 11:20 remaining. Two minutes later,
Ashlee Baker found Lobbezoo cutting towards the cage for a goal. Cumberlands won four straight draw controls converting each of them into goals, including three straight by
Kaitlyn Friel to make it 6-1 with 6:00 remaining. A minute later,
Christina Carter notched a caused turnover and went coast-to-coast for a man-down goal extending the lead to 7-1. UC added five unanswered goals, by four different Patriots to make it 12-1 after the first quarter.
Cumberlands defense continued their strong efforts, while UC netted three straight goals, two of which were assisted to take a 15-2 lead with 3:26 remaining. Kimsey notched her second save of the contest, before Donaldson found
Jennifer Barnica cutting towards the cage for her first collegiate goal making it 16-2 at the break.
Madison Rupp scooped a ground ball as
Tess Lisy made a strong move for a goal giving UC a 17-2 advantage. Baker notched a pair of assists connecting with
Lenora DeVries and Joins for goals making it 19-2. UC continued their strong play as DeVries found Friel for a goal as Cumberlands took a 20-2 lead into the fourth quarter. Cumberlands outshot Warner 9-1 in the fourth quarter as the Patriots added three goals for the 23-2 final
The Patriots outshot the Royals 36-12 in the game, while holding a 17-8 edge on draw controls.
Cumberlands returns home to face (RV) Marian on Saturday, February 28
