CHARLOTTE, NC – UC's women's track & field team opened the weekend by splitting squads between the Charlotte 49er Classic and the Emory Spring Break Classic. The Patriots turned in a strong showing highlighted by an NAIA standard and several solid performances across both meets.
Charlotte 49er Classic
Cumberlands was led by
Patrober Jepchirchir in the 5000-meter invite, as she placed second overall with a time of 17:13.87. Her mark met the NAIA B standard to highlight the Patriots' opening weekend.
In the 1500 meters,
Alex Cundiff paced Cumberlands with a time of 4:50.47.
Anslee Crosby competed in the 5000-meter open section, finishing 19th overall in 19:16.59.
Emory Spring Break Classic
The Patriots saw strong performances from the sprint group in the 200 meters.
Lillian Guzman led the way with an 11th-place finish in 25.30, while
Ritorion Vigne followed with a time of 25.97.
The Pats will be back for the second day of competition at both meets tomorrow.
