Columbia, KY – The No. 6 University of the Cumberlands men's tennis team dropped a Mid-South Conference matchup on Monday afternoon, falling 7-0 to No. 5 Lindsey Wilson at the Henry Baughman Tennis Complex. 

The Blue Raiders claimed the doubles point after winning two of the three matches. The Patriots' top pairing of Darius Kuster and Gabriele Solda fell 6-1 at No. 1 doubles, while Jacopo Cianfarini and Mohammed Abuzed Saber dropped a 6-2 decision at No. 3 doubles. The No. 2 doubles match featuring Kesia Roi and Manuel Fernandez Guede was left unfinished with Lindsey Wilson leading 4-3. 

In singles play, Lindsey Wilson secured straight-set victories in five of the six matches to seal the sweep. At the top of the lineup, Kuster battled but fell 6-4, 7-5 to Lev Sholosh. Solda also put together a competitive match at No. 3 singles before dropping a 7-5, 6-4 decision to Miguel Mateo Larrea. 

Cianfarini fell 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 singles, while Thibaud Vivier dropped a 6-1, 7-5 match at No. 4. Abuzed Saber rounded out the straight-set matches at No. 6 singles with a 6-3, 6-1 loss. 

The closest contest of the day came at No. 5 singles, where Roi pushed the match to a third-set tiebreak after taking the second set 6-4. However, Lucas Marques claimed the match with a 10-5 tiebreak victory to secure the final point for Lindsey Wilson. 

The Patriots are back on the court on Wednesday, April 1, where they will host Midway for a rescheduled match from earlier this season. The first serve is slated for 1:00 PM.
