London, KY – The #19 University of the Cumberlands men's golf team delivered a strong performance on their home course, capturing the team title out of 10 teams at the Patriot Invite with an even-par finish across three rounds. The Patriots posted the lowest team score in the field, while the Cumberlands B team also turned in an impressive showing, finishing second overall.
Cumberlands' A team was led by Eli Fischer, who claimed the individual championship after firing a three-round total of 212 (-4). Fischer opened the tournament with a stellar 68 (-4) before following with back-to-back rounds of 72 (E). His performance included 11 birdies across the event.
Close behind was Alexei Butchart, who finished second overall with a total score of 214 (-2). Butchart recorded rounds of 73 (+1), 69 (-3), and 72 (E), tallying nine birdies and an eagle over the tournament.
Pedro Morgado also delivered a strong outing for the Patriots, finishing tied for third with a three-round total of 216 (E). Morgado carded rounds of 70 (-2), 70 (-2), and 76 (+4), while leading the team with 11 birdies.
Theo Andersson placed tied for 13th after shooting 222 (+6) with rounds of 74 (+2), 70 (-2), and 78 (+6), recording eight birdies during the event. Pablo Lopez rounded out the A team lineup with a 16th-place finish at 224 (+8), highlighted by eight birdies across his three rounds.
The Cumberlands B Team also turned in a strong performance, finishing second overall at +21. Colby Johnson led the group with a tie for third place after shooting 216 (E), highlighted by nine birdies and two eagles. Saran Jantratit followed with an eighth-place finish at 219 (+3), recording six birdies and an eagle. Thomas White placed 15th with a total of 223 (+7), including 13 birdies during the tournament.
Rounding out the B team were Alex Bennett, who finished tied for 35th with a score of 234 (+18), and Radney Bales, who placed 46th at 244 (+28).
Several Patriots also competed as individuals. Lorenzo Fiato led the individual entries with a tie for 24th finish after shooting 228 (+12). Reece Keeton placed tied for 35th at 234 (+18), while Micah Steely finished 44th with a three-round score of 241 (+25).
In the final team standings, the #19 Patriots secured the tournament title with an even-par team score to finish first overall. The Cumberlands B Team also turned in a strong performance, placing second at +21. #23 Northwestern Ohio finished close behind in third with a team score of +22, while Georgetown (Ky.) placed fourth at +29. Cumberland (Tenn.) rounded out the top five with a total score of +33.
The Patriots will return to action on April 13-14 where they will travel to compete at the Music City Classic in Nashville, Tennessee.
