Williamsburg, KY – The #13 Cumberlands Patriots improved to 7-2 on the season with a commanding 6-1 win over #22 Cumberland on Monday afternoon at the UC Tennis Complex. 

Cumberlands set the tone early by sweeping all three doubles matches to secure the doubles point. The duo of Mahiro Hara and YuFang Liu opened things up with a dominant 6-0 victory at No. 1 doubles. Victoria Zarate and Haruna Kojima followed with a 6-3 win at No. 2, while Marina Nagai and Bryndis Rosa capped off the sweep with a 6-1 victory at No. 3 doubles. 

The Patriots carried that momentum into singles play, winning five of the six matches. YuFang Liu was the first to finish, cruising to a 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 6 singles. Bryndis Rosa followed with a strong 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles to extend the Patriots' lead. At the top of the lineup, Marina Nagai delivered another point with a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 1 singles. 

Victoria Zarate battled through a tight match at No. 3 singles, earning a 7-5, 6-3 win, while Mahiro Hara secured a 6-3, 7-5 victory at No. 5 singles to round out the Patriots' singles wins. 

The Patriots are back on the court on Wednesday, March 11, with a home match against #17 Grace College. The first serve is slated for 1:00 PM.
