Women Close Weekend in Dominant Fashion

ASHVILLE, NC – The University of the Cumberlands women's track & field team wrapped up day two of competition across multiple meets with record-breaking performances, NAIA standards, and strong depth across the roster.

Asheville Bulldog Invitational

Cumberlands opened the day with a statement performance in the 4x100-meter relay, as MaQuoia Raglin, Ritorion Vigne, Abia Kante, and Lillian Guzman captured the event title in 45.91. The mark broke the school record, hit the NAIA A standard, and currently ranks No. 3 in the NAIA this season.
 
Guzman delivered her second record-breaking performance of the dat, placing third in the 400m with a time of 56.03. The mark broke the school record and hit the NAIA B standard. Raglin followed in 57.86, while Lennon Little recorded a personal-best 1:00.40.
 
Kante followed by placing second in the 100 meters with a time of 11.96. Vigne followed in third at 12.03, while Allie Bryson ran 12.73.
 
The hurdles group saw Abigail McKamey place second in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:08.06. Aliah Laster placed fifth in 1:12.45 and also ran a personal-best 15.71 in the 100-meter hurdles.

Lee Fast Break Athletics Invitational

In the 10,000 meters last night, Alina Boshchuk delivered a school-record performance, finishing second in 34:36.08. The mark broke the school record, hit the NAIA A standard, and currently ranks No. 2 in the NAIA. Patrober Jepchirchir followed with a time of 34:50.38, hitting the NAIA A standard and ranking No. 3 nationally.
 
In the 800 meters, Elisa Helferich ran a personal-best 2:20.67, while Megan Kitchens followed in 2:21.19. Grace Nelson added a personal-best 2:25.40, and Hope Boa recorded a personal-best 2:27.76.

Scots Invitational

In the throws, Kelsie Peavler led the Patriots with a second-place finish in the discus, recording a mark of 30.76 meters. Peavler also placed sixth in the javelin with a throw of 19.73 meters.
 
The Pats will now look ahead to Wake Forrest and Georgia Tech next weekend where they will continue to build off this momentum.
