LOUISVILLE, KY – The University of the Cumberlands women's track & field team wrapped up competition at the Clark Wood Invitational with strong performances in the distance events and solid efforts across the board.
Alina Boshchuk led the way with a national standard performance in the 5000 meters, capturing the event title with a time of 17:16.51.
Patrober Jepchirchir followed with a runner-up finish in 17:29.18.
The 800 meters saw a group effort from the Patriots, led by
Alex Cundiff who placed 22nd with a time of 2:19.80.
Megan Kitchens followed in 40th at 2:24.59, while
Rylee Schaffner recorded a personal-best 2:27.56 to place 45th.
Hope Boa added a 46th-place finish with a time of 2:29.91.
Abia Kante represented Cumberlands in the 200 meters, placing 47th with a time of 24.84.
Ritorion Vigne followed with a 25.48 200m finish.
In the field events,
Katie Slade recorded a throw of 36.02 meters in the javelin to place seventh.
The Patriots also competed in the shot put, where
Delaney Deaton recorded a mark of 9.09 meters while
Kelsie Peavler followed right behind with a throw of 9.07 meters.
Cumberlands will continue competition tomorrow for the final day of the Clark Wood Invitational.
