Bowling Green, KY – For the second consecutive year, the UC Baseball team saw 18 student-athletes named to the MSC Academic All-Conference list for their work in the classroom this year, conference officials announced.
To be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and be in their third term or fourth quarter.
Clay Shelton led the way for Cumberlands, earning Academic All-Conference honors for the fifth time in his career. Canaan Browning, Jay Flynn, Luke Genier, and Caden Petrey each garnered the recognition for the third time.
Two Patriots earned the honor for the second time, including Wesley Culley, and Stuart Tharle.
Eleven more Patriots were recognized for the first time in their careers, including Daniel Castillo, Justin Cortez, Sebastian De La Cruz, Mason Howard, Elijah Nickell, Cole Reynolds, Ethan Schofield, Chris Seay, Cayden Smithers, Bryce Turner, and Amari Yolas.
UC's 18 honorees are tied for third in the Mid-South Conference this season with Bethel and Lindsey Wilson.
The Patriots are gearing up for the MSC Tournament as they will play the winner of the play-in game between #6 Bethel/#7 Georgetown on Wednesday April 29th in Bowling Green, KY.
