Cumberlands Sets Program Record with 5 First Team All-Americans; 8 Pats Earn All-American Honors

Decatur, AL – A day ahead of beginning their NAIA Tournament run, the UC women's lacrosse team collected a plethora of honors with a NAIA-best eight players earning NAIA All-American honors, it was announced Sunday night at the NAIA Student-Athletes Experience. The Patriots bolstered a program record five NAIA First Team All-American honorees, which also led the NAIA.
 
Koral Hadac and Emma Rittman highlights this All-American list as they become the first Patriot players to earn First Team All-American accolades four times, while joining assistant coach Bella Ricchiazzi as the only four-time All-Americans.  Joining that duo on first team is Ashlee Baker, Anna Lobbezoo, and Mikayla KimseyMadison Rupp garnered NAIA Second Team All-American honors, while Lenora DeVries rounds out the list as a Third Team All-American honoree. 
 
Hadac continues to be a lockdown defender that anchors the Patriots backline with 46 caused turnovers, 57 ground balls, and 18 draw controls.  For the second consecutive season, the senior leads the NAIA in caused turnovers and is the program's career leader with 173 caused turnovers.  The Rosemount, MN native has been named an IWLCA Defensive Player of the Week three times this season.  Hadac tallied 12 caused turnovers and nine ground balls during the AAC Tournament, while she scooped nine ground balls and a pair of draw controls in the Pats win over Ave Maria.  Hadac has notched at least four caused turnovers in six games, while leading a UC defense that has limited opponents to 4.69 goals per game.  Hadac also ranks fourth in the NAIA this season for ground balls, while her 261 career ground balls rank second in program history.
 
Rittman has been one of the most versatile players in program history and has been a difference maker throughout her career.  The senior has notched 60 goals, 84 points, 63 ground balls, 103 draw controls, and 21 caused turnovers.  The Pickerington, OH native leads the NAIA in ground balls, while ranking fourth in the country in draw controls and sixth in goals.  She has tallied at least five points in ten games, including five goals in the win over Missouri Baptist.  Rittman scooped ten ground balls and eight draw controls during the AAC Tournament.  The senior has played a vital role in UC limiting opponents to a 56.2% clear rate. Rittman is the program's career leader with 619 draw controls and 278 ground balls, while she ranks second with 142 caused turnovers, and fifth with 220 goals. 
 
Baker captured First Team All-American honors for the second straight year after being named the AAC Player & Offensive Player of the Year and an AAC First Team All-Conference selection. The junior posted a career season with a NAIA-best 66 assists and 128 points, while she is ranked fourth in the country with 62 goals. The catalyst of the Patriots offensive, Baker has set new career-highs in each of those categories, averaging 6.4 ppgs this season, including a season-best nine points (3g, 6a) in the win over #4 Reinhardt.  She followed that up with six goals and eight points in the AAC title game earning her AAC Tournament MVP.  Baker is averaging 7.2 ppg over the Pats last eight games, including dishing out at least five assists in five of the past eight games.  The junior has broken Cumberlands single season assist record (66) and she has tallied 147 assists and 291 points throughout her career. Baker's consistency has led to her being named the NAIA Offensive Player of the Week twice and capturing four AAC Player of the Week honors.
 
Leading the NAIA in save percentage and goals against average, Kimsey captured NAIA First Team All-American honors.  The Jacksonville, FL native has posted a NAIA-best 58.0% save percentage to go along with a 5.05 GAA.  Kimsey has made 120 saves, tallying at least five saves in 12 games.  She garnered a season-high 13 saves twice, including in the win over #4 Reinhardt.  Kimsey also added 12 saves and a 70.6%  save percentage against Life.  During the AAC Tournament, the sophomore made 14 saves, while limiting opponents to just four goals in each of the two games.  She was named the AAC Defensive Player of the Week three times, NAIA Defensive Player of the Week, and was a member of the AAC All-Tournament Team.
 
Lobbezoo captures her third NAIA All-American honor and captured First Team honors for the first time in her career.  The Jenison, MI native has been a pivotal part of the Patriots play as she contributes in every facet of the game.  Lobbezoo has netter 47 goals, dished out a career-best 42 assists, 68 draw controls, and 22 ground balls.  Lobbezoo is ranked fourth in the NAIA with 42 assists, while she continues to excel at both ends of the field.  The Jenison, MI native has tallied her 200th career goal, 300th career point, and 200th career draw control during the season and continues to be pivotal to UC's draw control unit that ranks second in the country.  She had tallied multiple goals in 15 games and notched a season-high five assists and eight points in the win over Marian. Lobbezoo is fourth in program history with 216 goals and 318 points, while being a crucial part of the Pats draw control for the past four years. 
 
After a stellar freshman season, Joines earns NAIA Second Team All-American accolades.  Joines is fourth on the team with 60 points, including 40 goals.  The Maryville, TN native netted at least three goals in eight games, including a career-high six goals and seven points in the win over (RV) Georgetown.  That performance earned her AAC Offensive Player of the Week honors.  Joines has notched 26 points in conference play and followed it up with seven points during the AAC Tournament. 
 
Rupp garnered NAIA Second Team All-American honors for the second time in her Patriot career.  The Kingwood, TX native tallied 14 caused turnovers and 24 ground balls on the year.  Rupp is a vital part of the Patriots defense that has limited opponents to 4.69 GAA and a 56.2% clear rate.  The senior also earned All-American honors in 2024.  Rupp was also named to the AAC All-Tournament Team after a standout performance. 
 
DeVries notched NAIA Third Team All-American distinction after an incredible freshman campaign. The Roseville, MN native has recorded 52 points, 56 ground balls, 36 caused turnovers, and 38 draw controls on the year to be named the AAC Freshman of the Year and an AAC Second Team All-Conference selection.  DeVries is seventh in the NAIA in both ground balls and caused turnovers.  The freshman made posted an impressive debut for Cumberlands tallying seven caused turnovers and eight ground balls in the win over #8 Lawrence Tech, which is the most by a Patriot freshman. DeVries has scored a goal in 18 games and has netted a season-high four goals twice.  DeVries also notched seven caused turnovers during the AAC Tournament, including three in the championship game. 

The Patriots have earned the second-seed in the NAIA Tournament and will face seventh-seed Ave Maria in the quarterfinals on Monday, May 11th at 5 p.m.  Fans can watch the game here.
