CLEVELAND, TN – The University of the Cumberlands women's track & field team closed out the regular season at the Lee University Last Chance Meet, turning in several strong performances ahead of the NAIA Outdoor Championships.
 
Cumberlands was led in the sprints by Abia Kante and MaQuoia Raglin in the 200 meters. Kante posted an NAIA top-1 time of 23.98 to place sixth, while Raglin followed in seventh with a time of 24.23, ranking top-15 in the nation. Both marks hit the NAIA B standard. Lillian Guzman also competed, recording a time of 24.95.
 
In the 100 meters, Raglin advanced to the finals after running 12.06 in the prelims, while Kante clocked 12.20 and Allie Bryson recorded 12.22.
 
The 400 meters saw Lennon Little post a time of 1:00.79, while A'yana Gray followed in 1:01.35.
 
In the hurdles, Abigail McKamey recorded a time of 1:09.55 in the 400-meter hurdles.
 
Middle distance action included Megan Kitchens, who ran 2:21.40 in the 800 meters, while Grace Nelson followed with a time of 2:25.51. Rylee Schaffner added a time of 4:54.29 in the 1500 meters.
 
Anslee Crosby was the lone Patriot in the 5000m, running an 18:59.45.
 
In the field events, Delaney Deaton led the way with a runner-up finish in the hammer throw, recording a mark of 41.27 meters. Deaton also placed fourth in the discus with a throw of 34.73 meters.
 
Katie Slade added a fifth-place finish in the javelin with a mark of 36.13 meters and also recorded a throw of 33.29 meters in the discus.
 
 
UC will now turn their attention to the NAIA Outdoor Championships as the Patriots look to build on their performances from the final tune-up meet of the season.
