Austin, TX – The University of the Cumberlands Men's Wrestling program continued its success both on the mat and in the classroom as a pair of Patriots were recognized as part of the 2026 CSC Academic All-District Team, officials announced Wednesday.

Malachia Harris and Marc LeGaspe each earned CSC Academic All-District at-large honors, marking the first career CSC Academic All-District recognition for both student-athletes. The duo helped lead the Patriots to their second consecutive Mid-South Conference Championship during the 2025-26 season.

Harris garnered CSC Academic All-District honors following another impressive campaign both academically and athletically. The sophomore was named an NAIA Scholar-Athlete, NAIA Men's Scholar All-American, and MSC Academic All-Conference selection this season. On the mat, Harris qualified for the NAIA National Championships for the second consecutive year and entered the tournament as the No. 9 seed after a runner-up finish at the Mid-South Conference Championships. He also captured an individual title at the Battle in the Bluegrass where he was named the MSC Wrestler of the Week and placed second at the Life Open. Harris has established himself as one of the top wrestlers in the conference, earning MSC Second Team All-Conference honors in each of the past two seasons while qualifying for the national tournament twice.

LeGaspe earned CSC Academic All-District recognition after excelling both in the classroom and on the mat during his graduate season. The Covina, CA native was named an NAIA Scholar-Athlete, NAIA Men's Scholar All-American, and MSC Academic All-Conference selection. LeGaspe qualified for the NAIA National Championships for the first time in his career after receiving an at-large bid to the national tournament. His top performance of the season came at the Battle in the Bluegrass, where he secured a fourth-place finish against a talented field of competitors.

The Patriots posted an 8-5 overall record and a 4-1 mark in Mid-South Conference dual competition during the 2025-26 campaign. Cumberlands captured its second consecutive Mid-South Conference Championship, finishing first among seven teams at the conference tournament, before placing 18th out of 63 teams at the NAIA National Championships.
