Bowling Green, KY – Following a strong opening weekend at the Keiser Invitational,
Savanah Jolly and
Brynnley Bryant have been named Mid-South Conference Players of the Week, conference officials announced Monday afternoon. Jolly earned MSC Setter of the Week honors, while Bryant was named MSC Attacker of the Week.
Jolly directed the Patriots offense, averaging 9.08 assists per set while posting a .310 attacking percentage from the setter position. After playing limited rotations in UC's opening match, the senior averaged 10.20 assists per set over the final three contests of the weekend.
Jolly turned in her top performance against Southeastern, dishing out a weekend-high 45 assists while adding 26 digs in the five-set match. She followed that performance with 38 assists, three kills, and seven digs as Cumberlands swept No. 9 Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio).
The Louisville, Ky. native earns her first MSC weekly honor of the season and the 10th of her career.
Bryant led the Patriots attack, averaging 4.50 kills per set while posting a .233 attacking percentage to help Cumberlands go 3-1 on the weekend. The junior tallied double-digit kills in all four matches, highlighted by a weekend-high 17 kills in UC's sweep of (RV) Texas Wesleyan. Bryant also recorded a double-double with 14 kills and 10 digs against Southeastern (Fla.).
The Wilmington, OH native added 22 digs, six blocks, and three service aces across the four matches. The award marks Bryant's first MSC weekly honor of the season and the second of her career.
Cumberlands will return to action on Friday, August 21, for its 2026 home opener against Bluefield. First serve is set for 11 a.m. inside the UC Volleyball Gym.
