Bowling Green, KY – University of the Cumberlands goalkeeper Martin Gomez has been named the Mid-South Conference Defensive Player of the Week, conference officials announced Monday. 

The senior played all 90 minutes in Cumberlands' lone match of the week, helping the Patriots earn a 1-1 road draw against #2 WVU Tech. The goalkeeper allowed just one goal against the second-ranked Golden Bears while recording two saves. 

Gomez finished the match with a 1.00 goals-against average and a .667 save percentage.
