Jared Martin will begin his 11th season as an Associate Head Coach for the Patriots.
Coach Martin returned to the Patriots after graduating from Cumberlands in 2014 with a Bachelor degree in Exercise & Sports Science and Public Health. When first returning to UC, Martin acquired his Masters of Arts in Teaching degree.
Coach Martin played at Harrison County High School helping lead them to win the 2010 KHSAA State Championship during his senior season. He was also named 1st Team All-State, 10th Region Player of the Year, and a member of the East/West All-Star Game.
After high school, Coach Martin came to the Patriots in 2010 and had one of the best careers in Patriots history. He set the record for career games played at 213, is second in career hits with 229, and fifth on the career doubles list with 48. During his career, Coach Martin had a .318 batting average with 130 RBI's. During his time as a Patriot, Martin was named the 2011 MSC Freshman of the Year, 2011 All-MSC 1st Team, 2014-All MSC 2nd Team, and 2014 Gold Glove winner for third base.
After Martin's collegiate career, he signed with the Schaumburg Boomers in the Frontier League for the 2014 season.
2015 - Patriots tallied a .313 team BA, the highest in school history since transitioning to BBCOR bats. UC had one 1st Team All-Conference selection, the MSC Freshman of the Year, five 2nd Team All-Conference Selections, and 13 Academic All-Conference honorees.Â
2016 - UC had a .318 team BA, ranked 26th in NAIA in triples, 33rd in BA, and 35th in doubles. The Patriots had two 1st Team All-Conference selections, five 2nd Team All-Conference selections, and 12 Academic All-Conference honorees.Â
Coach Martin also coached summer ball with the Hoptown Hoppers in the Ohio Valley League. There, his team broke the league record for wins (34), but weren't able to finish the tournament due to weather. They were ranked in the summer collegiate baseball top 35 every week, broke team offensive records for average, home runs, doubles, runs scored, and hits, and broke single game record for home runs, runs scored, and hits. He had 12 players named to the 2016 OVL All-Star game.Â

2017 - UC finished with a .316 team BA while ranked 21st in the NAIA in hits, 24th in triples, 28th in hits per game, 32nd in home runs, and 34th in BA. They also ranked 21st in fielding percentage. The Patriots won their first MSC Tournament Championship since 2004 and finished with the second most wins in school history (43-17). UC had five 1st Team All-Conference selections, five 2nd Team All-Conference selections, one NAIA All-American, and 11 Academic All-Conference selections.Â
2018 - Pats tallied a .331 team BA , the highest in recent history and 15th best in the NAIA. UC was ranked in the Top 15 of the NAIA in the following categories: Fielding Percentage (.971 - 5th), Home Runs per Game (1.241 - 10th), RBI per Game (7.448 - 11th), Total Runs Scored (474 - 14th), Total RBI (432 - 14th), Slugging Percentage (.512 - 14th), Runs Scored per Game (8.172 - 15th). Cumberlands also set a new school record for most home runs in a season (72) and walks (254). UC would win the MSC Regular Season Championship with a 14-2 record during the year before finishing runner-up in the MSC Tournament. The Patriots would go on to host their first ever NAIA World Series Opening Round since the NAIA introduced that format. Cumberlands had six 1st Team All-Conference selections, two 2nd Team All-Conference selections, three MSC Gold Glove award recipients, nine Academic All-Conference selections, and three NAIA Scholar-Athletes.Â
2019 - Cumberlands notched a team BA of .332, good enough for ninth in the NAIA. UC led the NAIA in both Home Runs per Game (1.925) and Slugging Percentage (0.593) while ranking sixth in RBIs per game. The Patriots fell in the elimination bracket of the MSC Tournament but would go on to be named a top seed in the NAIA World Series Opening round, which they hosted for the second consecutive season. The Pats made a deep run, making it all the way to the championship game but were bested by Indiana Tech to finish the season at 46-10.
2020 - In 25 games, UC managed a .280 team batting average, slugging out 39 homeruns, and driving 139 RBIs. The Patriots ranked in the top 15 in Homeruns Per Game with 1.240. Before the season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Cumberlands managed an impressive 17 game win streak, one conference series win, and a handful of ranked wins. The Pats would finish the short season with a record of 22-3 (2-1 MSC) and ranked seventh in the NAIA.Â
2021 - UC was in the top-15 in seven hitting categories on the year including 6th in home runs per game (1.889). They were also 8th in slugging percentage (0.602), 10th in runs scored per game (8.907) and RBI per game (8.204), 11th in total RBI (443), 13th in batting average (0.335) and 14th in and total runs scored (481). UC had seven First-Team All-Conference selections, five Second-Team All-Conference selections, and two MSC honorable mentions. Bryan Leef and Thomas Guitierrez swept Player and Pitcher of the yeah Honors. Bryan Leef was also named an NAIA First-Team All-American while Thomas Gutierrez earned Honorable Mention Honors.Â
2022- MSC Assistant Coach of the Year- UC finished the year 46-16 and 18-6 in conference play, at the end of the season the Patriots was second in the conference and won their second straight MSC tournament to secure one of the Mid-South's automatic bids to the NAIA Opening Round. This season UC was inside the top-10 for every statistics category in the NAIA, while being first in 14 categories: Games (62), At Bats (2106), Runs (561), Hits (723), Doubles (154), Triples (17), RBIs (506), Extra Base Hits (260), Total Bases (1178), Walks (271), Sacrifice Flies (31), and Batting Average (.343). The Patriots had four First-Team All-Conference selections, five Second-Team All-Conference selections, and two MSC honorable mentions. Along with MSC Freshman of the Year, and Two Gold Gloves.

2023- Cumberlands went 49-9 on the season while setting new program records in severally statistics categories, Homeruns (142), RBIs (569), Runs Scored (616), Walks (313), Wins (49), Strikeouts (549), and Saves (17). The Patriots had three NAIA All-Americans, six First-Team All-Conference selections, seven Second-Team All-Conference selections, and two MSC honorable mentions. Along with Caden Petrey taking home freshman of the year, while Max Harper and Evan St Claire winning gold gloves. The team batted .350 with 673 hits, 142 homeruns, 127 doubles, and 14 triples.Â
2024- MSC Assistant Coach of the Year - The Patriots completed the 2024 season with a program high 52 wins and just eight losses, while breaking six single-season team records: Wins (52), Home Runs (144), Runs Batted In (626), Runs Scored (660), Walks (356), and Strikeouts (608) and winning their first NAIA World Series game, 6-4 over William Carey. Cumberlands received numerous accolades including five NAIA All-Americans, seven MSC First Team All-Conference selections, four MSC Second Team All-Conference honorees and four MSC Gold Gloves. Charlie Muniz was named the MSC Player of the Year and honored as a member of the NAIA World Series All-Tournament team, while Cesar Avila was named the MSC Pitcher of the Year.Â
2025- UC compiled an overall record of 50-12 and 16-2 in MSC play. Cumberlands took home the MSC Regular Season title and earned a trip to the NAIA World Series for the third consecutive season. The Pats picked up two wins at the NAIA World Series for the first time ever after defeating Grand View and Loyola. Cumberlands had three players receive NAIA All-American honors, six MSC First-Team All-Conference selections, two Second Team All-Conference honorees, and two gold gloves. Charlie Muniz led the NAIA in home runs (36) and runs batted in (96) and was first Patriot to be named NAIA Player of the Year and MSC Player of the Year, while Kailen Hamson garnered MSC Pitcher of the Year honors. Trent Prokes became just the second player in program history to make the NAIA World Series All-Tournament team.
Coach Martin's responsibilities include working with infielders, hitters, and recruiting.
