Dewayne Wells enters his 3rd season for the Patriots as an assistant football coach. He is coaching the receivers. Over the past three seasons, Coach Wells has helped the Patriots 20-10 record.
Dewayne previously served as Head Coach at Morristown East High School (TN) from 2014-2018. From 2012-2013 he was the Defensive Coordinator at East. From 2001-2010 Dewayne was the Head Coach at Campbell County High School (TN) He led the program to its 1st winning season and playoff appearance in school history. From 1998-2000 Dewayne was the Athletic Director and Head Coach at Twiggs County (GA).
From 1991-1997 Dewayne help start the football program at Tusculum College in Greeneville, TN. From 1991-94 he was the Defensive Coordinator and later became the Head Coach from 1995-97. From 1985-1990 Dewayne was part of the original staff at Cumberland College when football was reinstated under Coach Tom Dowling as an assistant coach.
Dewayne played collegiately at Carson Newman University under Coach Ken Sparks
Dewayne is married to the former Beverly Andrew and parents of daughter Bethany Wells McFarland and husband Justin. Son Stephen Wells and wife Kristen. Son Phillip Wells and wife Erin along with grandson Luke.
