Jaelon Benjamin just completed his second season for the Patriots and first as the outside linebackers coach. He was originally hired on as a full-time running backs coach for the Patriots in 2023.

In his second season, Coach Benjamin and UC went 5-5 overall and 2-4 in MSC play. The defense allowed just 24.2 points per game and finished the year with 28 sacks and 13 interceptions, including a pick-six from linebacker Adam Caudle. Coach Benjamin and the Patriots took down #24 Lindsey Wilson College this year for the first time since 2013.

In his first full-time coaching season, the Patriots went 6-4 and averaged just under 150 rushing yards per game. Coach Benjamin utilized the run game a ton during the year, finishing with over 400 rushing attempts and 15 rushing TD's. UC had six rushing TD's in their season opener against KCU and found the endzone four times from the ground against Faulkner. Benjamin had an All-Conference running back in Darius James who finished the year just seven yards shy of 1,000. 

In his season as a GA, he coached the defensive backs last season, guiding MSC Freshman of the Year Malik Thorton. Prior to his GA stint he assisted with the Williamsburg HS Football Team. 

Benjamin was a DB for the Patriots from 2015-2018 where he garnered MSC 2nd Team Honors in 2016. He tallied seven interceptions, two interceptions returned for touchdowns, three fumble recoveries, and over 100 total tackles over his career.
