Tyson Beacham completed his third season at UC after being hired in the spring of 2022. Beacham will serve as wide receivers coach for the Patriots.
In his third season, UC went 5-5 and 2-4 in MSC action. The Pats averaged 172.1 receiving yards per game, scoring 12 TD's through the air. Coach Beacham and the Patriots defeated #24 Lindsey Wilson College for the first time since 2013.
In his second season, UC finished the year 6-4, averaging 138.7 rec yards per contest. Cumberlands finished with 10 receiving TD's and a game-high 185 yards in their victory over Campbellsville. Coach Beacham had one All-Conference player in Curtis Leflore Jr. and finished the season with a ranked win against #14 Reinhardt.
In his first season, UC went 5-5 while averaging 144.4 rec yards per game. The team totaled 12 receiving touchdowns on the year, led by Elijah Howard who caught three. UC had a season-high 283 rec yards against #3 Lindsey Wilson, and earned a ranked win against #11 Georgetown 24-23.Â
"I'm excited to get to work with the student-athletes, coaching staff and administration at the University of the Cumberlands," said Beacham. "The support from the campus community is what makes the university such a special place."
Beacham comes to UC with seven years of collegiate coaching experience at the NCAA DIII level. Beacham has served as the wide receivers coach at Wittenberg University for the past three seasons. There he was part of the Tigers staff that went 14-6 over the three year span as he coached Sam Kayser to two All-Conference accolades.
Prior to joining the Tigers, Beacham began his collegiate coaching career with a five-year stint as the quarterbacks and receivers coach a Berry College. In his time with the Vikings, Beacham coached several all-conference players as well as All-American Mason Kinsey, who is currently playing for the Tennessee Titans.
Beacham played his collegiate career as the quarterback for Birmingham Southern College from 2009-13. There he was the offensive MVP and team captain during the 2013 season. Beacham closed out his college career ranked third in completion percentage at 58.5% and fourth in pass completions with 156.
