Coach Bush joined the Patriots as an assistant coach prior to the 22-23 season and just completed his third season on the staff, and first as Associate Head Coach. Bush has been crucial in the recruiting for the Patriots, and has played a pivotal roll in bringing in multiple NAIA First Team All Americans and MSC Players of the Year (Anthony Johnson and Jonathan Brown), as well as two-time MSC Defensive Player of the Year (TJ Cave).

In 24-25, Bush helped lead UC to a 24-9 overall record, 10-2 in MSC play, a Mid-South Conference Regular Season Title, an NAIA First & Second Round Championship, and to the NAIA Final Site Round of 16 in Kansas City, MO. Coach Bush was voted MSC Assistant Coach of the Year, becoming the first coach in Patriot history to earn the award. The Pats hosted their second straight NAIA First & Second Round, defeating Milligan and Mobile, before dropping to #3 Arizona Christian at the Final Site Round of 16. UC scored 3004 total points on the season, the third highest total in Patriots history. 

In 23-24, Bush helped lead UC to a 28-5 overall record, 10-2 in MSC play, a Mid-South Conference Regular Season Title, an NAIA First & Second Round Championship, and to the NAIA Final Site Round of 16 in Kansas City, MO. The Patriots hosted the NAIA First & Second Rounds for the first time in program history, earning wins over Philander Smith and Florida College to win the Williamsburg Bracket. Bush coached the MSC Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year in Jonathan Brown and TJ Cave. Coach had three First-Team All-Conference players in Brown, Anthony Johnson, and J.J. Ramey. The Patriots season concluded in the Round of 16 to Morningside 80-74. 

In 22-23, Bush assisted the Patriots to a 17-12 overall record, going 11-11 in MSC play. UC hosted the opening round game of the MSC Tourney where they fell to Campbellsville to end their tournament run. This was the final game of the season for UC. Daniel had two First-Team All-Conference players in Jahi Hinson and Steven Fitzgerald this season. 

From 2019 to 2022 Coach Bush was an assistant at the Marion Military Institute. While there he was an offensive coordinator that saw the 20-21 team to a top-25 in FG%, had the leading assist per game PG in the nation, served as the head coach for 3 games and went 3-0 with two last second winners, and developed 3 DIII transfers to go on to receive DII scholarships.

Coach coached one season at Averett University during the 2018-19 season. While here they lost in the conference semi-finals to the eventual conference champion. Coach Bush recruited the conference MVP and developed a 1st Team All-Conference player. 

Bush had a one-year stint at the University of Charleston during the 17-18 season. The team made it to the conference champion where they fell to Wheeling Jesuit who had a current NBA player on the roster. While here, Coach Bush was responsible for scouting, video breakdown, day-to-day operations, and advanced analytics. Three of his players went on to sign professional contracts after their collegiate career. 

Prior to coaching, Bush played overseas for the Dundee Madsons in 2016 and the Tayside Musketeers in 16-17 in the Scottish National League. While competing he broke the Madsons record with threes in a game with 10 and reached the league championship in his first season. Bush also coached the Under-18 National Team where he coached and developed the only  Scottish NCAA DI player in the country at the time. 

He completed his collegiate career at Union College (KY) from 2012-15. His accomplishments include going 10-2 as a starting PG, reaching the NAIA Sweet 16 which was the furthest in school history at the time, ranked top-10 in the NAIA, won two regular season titles and a conference tournament championship. He also excelled off the court, winning the Dr. LA Geiss Award for the highest GPA in the business department.
