Coach Jake Mitchell is concluding his first season as the assistant coach with the Patriots after graduating from Cumberlands in May of 2019.

UC is coming off a shorten season where they posted a 4-1 record, including a 1-0 mark in AAC play.  The Patriots notched an 11-10 overtime win to open the season and also set a program record scoring 20+ goals in three straight contest.  UC climbed to be ranked third in the NAIA Top 10 poll when play was halted. 

During his four years at UC, Mitchell, a Gahanna, OH native, played midfielder for the Patriots. He recorded 33 goals, 40 assists, and 73 points over his career, including causing 11 turnovers and 79 ground balls during the 2019 season. Mitchell notched 36 caused turnovers and 285 ground balls with the Patriots.

While at Cumberlands, Mitchell was a two-time AAC Second Team All-Conference selection in 2016 and 2018, a two-time AAC First Team All-Conference selection in 2017 and 2019, a two-time NAIA First Team All-American in 2017 and 2019, as well as earning NAIA All-Tournament Team recognition in 2018.

Mitchell graduated University of the Cumberlands in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Sports Science. He is currently pursuing his Master's of Health and Human Performance.
