In his first year with the Patriots, Kody led UC to a 13-5 record, including a 5-3 mark in conference play.  Swann guided Cumberlands to the AAC Tournament finals, before reaching the NAIA National Championship game for the first time in program history.  Under his guidance, the Patriots had four NAIA All-Americans and five AAC All-Conference selections.

Swann returns to Cumberlands after spending two years at Columbia College, where he served as the interim head coach during the 2024 season.  While with the Cougars, Swann helped guide them to the 2023 KCAC Tournament title after they defeated Ottawa 15-14.  In his two years at Columbia the Cougars compiled a 12-13 record.

Swann began his coaching career as an assistant coach with the Patriots, where he spent three years after graduating from UC. During that span, Cumberlands compiled a 25-13 record, including a 11-5 mark in AAC play.  The Patriots reached the semifinals of the NAIA Invitational in both 2021 and 2022.  He has coached multiple All-American and All-Conference players over that stretch.

During his four years at UC, Swann, a Newburg, MD native, played in the midfield for the Patriots. He recorded nine goals, five assists, and 14 points over his career, but his greatest impact came at the face-off position. Swann holds the single-season and career records for face-off win percentage at .606 overall, highlighted by a .631 FO% in 2017. As a face-off specialist, Swann won 713-1176  face-offs, scooped 303 ground balls, and caused 44 turnovers with the Patriots.

While at Cumberlands, Swann was a two-time AAC Second Team All-Conference selection in 2016 and 2017, a two-time AAC First Team All-Conference selection in 2018 and 2019, a two-time NAIA Second Team All-American in 2018 and 2019, as well as earning AAC All-Tournament Team recognition in 2019.

"I'm grateful to have played here for four years and now having the opportunity to coach is a dream come true," said Swann, "I'm excited for the next few years and all that comes with it."

Swann graduated University of the Cumberlands in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with an emphasis in management. He will begin pursuing a Master's of Coaching Degree in the Summer of 2020.  Swann resides in WIlliamsburg with his wife Shelby.
