Konnie Snyder is entering her 3rd year at the University of the Cumberlands as an assistant coach for the Women’s Basketball program. She joined UC from South Laurel High School in London, Kentucky where she was the Head Coach of the girls’ basketball team for 15 years. During her time at South Laurel, Coach Snyder amassed a career record of 252-181, which included seven district titles, two region titles and one trip to the Final Four.
Coach Snyder attended UC in 1986 where she played all four years for the Patriot ladies. While at UC, Snyder held the records for single game assists as well as assists in a season until it was broken by her sister and current UC Head Coach Melissa Irvin. Coach Snyder earned her Bachelor’s Degree from UC in Business Administration and Physical Education.
In her first two years at UC, the Patriots have amassed a record of 26-31 overall. During those two seasons, the Patriots have had one 1st Team MSC All-Conference selection, three 2nd Team MSC All-Conference selections, one NAIA All-American Honorable Mention, 11 MSC Academic All-Conference award winners, and three NAIA Scholar Athlete award winners.
Coach Snyder and her husband, Larry, have two children, Nicholas and Korey. Nicholas is married and has a son, Andrew. Korey attended UC and was a National Champion on the Archery team.
