Coach Cox just concluded her first season as the assistant coach with the Patriots after joining the Patriots in fall of 2017. In her first season at UC, Cox helped guide the Cumberlands to a 20-2 record, including capturing the programs first AAC regular season and tournament titles. The Patriots also qualified for the NAIA Invitational and advanced to the semifinals.
Prior to joining UC, Cox, a York, PA native, spent four years playing at Kutztown. While playing for the Bears, Cox recorded 300 career saves in 47 games, including making a career high 140 saves in 2016. In addition to saves, Cox scooped up 87 career ground balls and caused eight turnovers. She served as captain of the Kutztown women's lacrosse team in 2017 and was also named team MVP.
"I'm excited for the opportunity to help take the lacrosse team to the next level. Coach Buikus is very knowledgeable in the game and I am thankful I have the ability to coach with her," said Cox. "I'm looking forward to help grow the game and mentor the girls on and off the field."
Cox excelled in the classroom at Kutztown, graduating in 2016 with a degree in Leisure and Sports Studies. She earned Dean's List Honors seven times, was a four time PSAC Scholar-Athlete, and garnered the D2ADA Academic Achievement Award twice.
Cox is currently pursuing her MBA at Cumberlands.
