Coach Park is entering his fifth season with the Patriots after joining the staff in June 2021. Coach Park has helped lead the Patriots to a 98-37 record with four straight 20+ wins season. Coach Park has been a vital part of UC earning back-to-back berths into the NAIA National Tournament and capture the 2023 MSC Tournament title. In 2024, JUng was named the MSC Assistant Coach of the Year.
Coach Park brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Cumberlands that includes over 25 years of coaching experience. Park has coached at the college club, junior club, and high school level, while also being a certified official for a plethora of years. Park got his coaching start as the Head Coach for the University of Connecticut Women’s Volleyball Club from 1996-2020. There he has led them to four NCVF/NWVCL regional championships along with a pair of NWVCL league championships. His success on the court earned Park NIRSA National Collegiate Club Coach of the Year in 2007. Park also has served as the head instructor of the Husky Juniors Club in Connecticut for over ten years as well as serving as an instructor for numerous collegiate camps over the past decade.
Park has been a highly touted official over the past decade calling college, national, and international events. He has officiated numerous NCAA and NAIA Championships and has been a FIVB International Referee since 2010. Park is a USAV and PAVO National Referee and has been a USAV and PAVO National Training and Rating Team Member since 2009. In 2013, Park was inducted into the Connecticut Women’s Volleyball Hall of Fame as a referee.
Park played men’s volleyball for the University of Connecticut men’s club program before competing at the USAV AA/A level for seven years.
Park earned B.A. in Sociology from the University of Connecticut and did graduate studies in Organizational Management from Eastern Connecticut State University.
Coach Park currently resides in Williamsburg with his wife Kathryn.
