University of the Cumberlands Athletics

Luis Montull earned male player of the week honors after tally a pair of points in both of Cumberlands wins.  Montull started the week by teaming with Aatu Merenheimo for a 6-2 win at #2 doubles to help UC take a 1-0 lead against Carson-Newman.  He followed that up with a 6-3, 7-5 win over Rintaro Oka at #3 singles.  Against Shawnee State, Montull didn’t surrender a game as he notched an 8-0 win in doubles and a 6-0, 6-0 win in singles.  His singles win was his eighth straight as he improves to 9-4 overall, while posting a 7-7 doubles record.
