Talli Burgess earned athlete of the month honors after going 7-0 with two saves and 1.03 ERA in 12 appearances that spanned 40.2 innings.   Burgess recorded 39 strikeouts on the month and limited opponents to a .212 batting average, while scattering just six runs over those appearances.  The Crandall, GA native opened the month by tossing 1.2 innings and earning a save in UC’s win over LSU Alexandria.  She followed that up with back-to-back complete games wins over Houston -Victoria and #25 Saint Xavier.  Burgess closed out both wins over #2 Mobile to help the Patriots sweep the Rams.  The following week saw the junior earn three wins over ranked teams as she defeated #18 Tennessee Wesleyan and earned the win in both games over #3 Freed-Hardeman.  Burgess tossed 11.1 innings scoreless softball with 13 strikeouts.  The junior closed out the month with consecutive seven strikeouts performances against Shawnee State and Midway to help UC improve to 14-2 overall on the month and their highest ranking in school history as they are currently ranked third.
