Salvador Martinez earned athlete of the month honors after leading the Patriots with 11 points on the month.  The freshman opened the month recording the Patriots lone hattrick of the season in UC’s 4-1 win over Freed-Hardeman.  Martinez netted the first goal of the content two minutes in, before adding a second goal in the closing minutes of the first half.  The freshman capped off the day by completing the hattrick with a goal in the 84’.  Martinez carried that momentum into the next match, where he notched a brace and finished with five points in UC’s 4-2 win over Georgetown.  Once again, Martinez started the scoring with a goal in the 10’ before finding Shuma Sasaki a few minutes later to make it 2-0.  In the 43’, Martinez put a well-placed shot into the net to extend their lead to 4-0.  Martinez was also part of the Patriots offense that earned back-to-back ties against Cumberland and Lindsey Wilson as the Patriots closed out the month with a 2-0-2 record.
