Valentina Zapata Ceballos earned athlete of the week honors after capturing seven All-American honors, including her first individual national title. After qualifying third in the prelims, the sophomore lowered her time to win the 100 fly, touching the wall in 55.32. It marked the sixth straight year that UC has had a swimmer win a national title. Zapata Ceballos opened nationals with sixth place finish in the 200 IM as she posted a season best time of 2:07.51. The Medellin, Colombia native capped off her individual events placing fourth in the 100 free with a time of 51.85. That time is the third fastest time in program history. In addition to her individual success, Zapata Ceballos was part of four Patriot relays that earned All-American honors, including the 400 free relay that finished third with a time of 3:29.59.
