Williamsburg, KY - The men's and women's tennis teams have been working diligently this season on the court to earn a chance at the national tournament; however, these athletes have not only been putting in work on the court but also in the classroom. The Patriots had five players earn academic all-conference honors.
Haley Mahan (SO/Williamsburg, KY), Paula Nieto (JR/Bogota, Columbia), and Hannah Wampler (SO/Lawrenceburg, KY) represented the women's team, while Daniel Butcher (JR/Williamsburg, KY) and Kenny Wilson (SR/Bowling Green, KY) were selected for this honor from the men's team.
22 men's Mid-South Conference tennis players were named to the Academic-All Conference Team, and 33 women also represented their respective teams.
In order to be nominated for this award athletes must maintain a minimum of a 3.25 GPA on a 4.0 scale, and have achieved at least sophomore status.
Both teams will return to court Sunday in Bowling Green, KY for the quarterfinals of the MSC tournament. The women's team faces Pikeville at 9 a.m. EST, while the men's team plays Georgetown at 12 p.m. EST.
