Columbia, KY – Playing their third Mid-South Conference game in six days, the UC volleyball team fell to sixth-ranked Lindsey Wilson 3-0 (22-25, 17-25, 17-25) Thursday night.  With the win the Blue Raiders improve to 20-3 and 9-0 against the MSC, while Patriots improve to 15-8 overall and 5-4 in conference play.

The Patriots used a Mackenzie Koch kill and assisted block to take an early 3-1 lead in the first set.  Lindsey Wilson went on a 6-1 run, before UC tallied back-to-back points to cut the deficit to 6-7.  After the Blue Raiders took the next four points, the two teams traded points for majority of the set.  UC tallied two straight points, including an Ashley Sobocinski kill, to cut the deficit to 21-23 however that was the closest the Patriots got as the Blue Raiders took the first set 25-22 and the 1-0 lead.

Lindsey Wilson jumped out to an 11-4 lead in the second set.  UC took two of the next three points, but Lindsey Wilson tallied with four straight to extend their lead to 16-6.  Cumberlands responded taking five of the next six points, which included a pair of Leah Crist kills, to cut the deficit to 17-11.  Lindsey Short dished out three of her game-high 26 assists over the final points of the second set however the Blue Raiders would pull away and win the set 25-17 to extend their lead to 2-0. 

The third set went similar to the second as Lindsey Wilson jumped out to an early lead 19-8 lead.  Cumberlands battled back but it wasn't enough as the Blue Raiders took the set 25-17 and the match 3-0.

Leading the way for the Patriots was Lily Chapman, who tallied a team-high ten kills.  Koch recorded nine kills, four blocks, and a pair of digs, while Sobocinski chipped in eight kills.  Tara Routliffe led UC's defense with 13 digs, while Short added seven digs and 26 assists.
