Williamsburg, KY – The UC men's swim team won 13 events and garnered eight NAIA "A" standards and seven NAIA "B" standards as the Patriots defeated Union 189-92 Saturday afternoon at the Dinah Taylor Aquatic Center.  The Patriots had four different swimmers record two wins apiece.

Cumberlands opened the meet with Nic Cecioni, Daniel Sims, Viktor Lyson, and Bryce Pierce teaming up to touch the wall in 1:38.86 to win the 200 medley relay.

Courtland Ellis, Lyson, John Morgan McDonald, and Sims finished with two wins apiece and at least two national cuts.  Ellis got the afternoon started by winning the 200 free, touching the wall in 1:46.14 for an "A" cut.  He followed that up by going 48.79 in the 100 free to win the event and notch a "B" standard.

Lyson won the 50 free and the 100 butterfly on the afternoon.  He touched the wall in 22.05 to hit a "B" standard in the 50 free, while going 51.57 to crush the "A" standard in the 100 fly.

Cumberlands went one, two, three in both the 500 free and 200 fly with McDonald touching first in both of the events.  McDonald swam 4:52.83 in the 500 free, while swimming a season-best time of 2:11.39 to win the 200 fly.

Sims is lone Patriot two finish the day with two NAIA "A" standards as he won both the 200 breast (2:11.39) and the 400 IM (4:20.39).  Sims also hit a "B" cut in the 100 breast as he touched the wall in 1:00.23.
