Glasgow’s Late Goal Pushes Patriots Past Running Eagles

Marietta, GA – Sabria Glasgow netted a game winner in the 87' minute to give the 24th-ranked UC women's soccer team a 3-2 MSC conference win over Life Tuesday night.  With the win the Patriots improve to 14-1-1 overall and 4-0-1 against the MSC, while the Running Eagles fall to 4-9 overall and 0-3 in conference play.

Life looked to get on the board first with an early shot, however the shot sailed wide. UC looked to have a chance from a corner kick but were called offside keeping the game scoreless. After trading possessions the Running Eagles struck first off a header from Callie Lambert from a Jasmine Turner corner kick to give Life the 1-0 led 9:31 into the first half. The Patriots responded quickly as Shelby Little scored the equalizing goal to tie the match at 1-1 two minutes later. During the middle of the first half the Running Eagles outshot the Patriots 3-2, however in the 40' minute Jody LeMaster netted the go-ahead goal to give them the 2-1 lead.  LeMaster's shot came off a rebound from a Glasgow shot, which was saved by Life's goalie Sydney Young.  UC looked to extend the lead but Young stopped an Emily Willoughby shot in the final minute giving the Patriots the 2-1 edge at the break.

Coming out of the break each team looked to net another goal, each shooting two shots in ten minutes, neither team successful. The Patriots and the Running Eagles traded possession during the middle of second half, until Turner and Lambert connect for their second goal of the match to tie the score 2-2 with 11:37 remaining. Three minutes before the final whistle, Glasgow netted the game winning goal, off a rebound from a LeMaster shot, giving the Patriots the 3-2 win.

Glasgow netted her sixth goal of the season and her second game-winning goal, while Little notched her third goal of the season.

LeMaster has now tallied a point in a career-high six straight games and moves into sole possession of fourth place in program history with 34 goals.
