Williamsburg, KY – The UC Women's Basketball team returned to action for the first time since before the Thanksgiving holiday as they hosted the Falcons of Simmons College of Kentucky. From the opening tip to the final whistle, the game was dominated in all fashions by the Patriots as they extended a 46-point lead at the half to a 64-point win over the Falcons by a final of 103-39. The win improves the Patriots to 7-2 overall on the season.
 
UC opened up the game with a 34-6 run across the first quarter of play. The Patriots extended the lead in the second as they led 60-14 at the end of the half. The second half was much of the same as UC's lead grew as large as 65 points before Cumberlands eventually ended the game with a 103-39 win over Simmons.
 
Four Patriots finished the night in double figures led by Shayla Simpson with 27 points, six rebounds, five steals, and four assists. Hannah Lawson chipped in 13 points from the bench with three rebounds and a pair of assists. Callia Cropp added 12 points and three assists while Kayla Bruner scored 10 points to go with seven rebounds and a pair of steals.
 
Twelve players scored in the contest as UC went 41-101 from the floor (40.6%) and 14-41 (34.1%) from beyond the arc.
 
Simmons had a pair lead in scoring as DaVianna Ruff and Love White both scored 14 points in the game. The Falcons shot 28.6% from the field and 26.1% from behind the three-point arc.
 
UC returns to action on Friday, November 30^th as they travel to take on Morris College in Sumter, South Carolina. Tip-off is set for 6 pm.
