Sumter, SC – UC Women's Basketball took to the road on Friday as they began a stretch of three games in four days with the first against the Hornets of Morris College. Cumberlands took over control early and never relinquished it as they walked away with an 84-48 win. The third straight win improves the Patriots to 8-2 on the year.
UC would gap the Hornets by 12 points in each of the first two quarters of the game to hold a 46-22 lead at the half. Another 12 point spread in the third coupled with a tied fourth quarter would lead to UC's 36-point win over the Hornets on Friday night.
Four Patriots would tally double figures in the win led by Callia Cropp with 17 points, one rebound, and one steal. Jasmine Rhodes added 12 points with seven rebounds and three steals while Shayla Simpson chipped in 12 points with six boards, an assist, and a steal. Summer Cramer posted 11 points in the win with a pair of rebounds and a steal.
Cumberlands shot just over 50% from the floor in the win while going 14-20 from the charity stripe. The Patriots outrebounded Morris 39-28 while tallying 31 bench points on the night.
UC returns to the hardwood on Saturday, December 1st at Voorhees College. Tip-off is slated for 4 pm.
