Box Score Williamsburg, KY – 23^rd-ranked Point won the final four matches to defeat the UC men's tennis team 5-4 Saturday afternoon at the UC Tennis Complex.  With the win Skyhawks improve to 9-2, while the Patriots move to 1-4.

The Patriots struck first as Rodrigo Ratte and Eric Banoub defeated Clayton Godfrey and Steven Tracy 8-5 at #3 doubles.  Yusuke Matsuoka and Martin Barbier extended the lead win an 8-6 win at #2.  At #1 doubles, Aatu Mereheimo and Luis Montull tried to rally but fell 9-7 cutting UC's lead to 2-1 heading into singles play.

In singles play, Montull extended Cumberlands lead to 3-1 with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at #3 singles.  Barbier followed defeating Joe Klokow 7-6, 7-6 at #2 singles to make it 4-1 in favor of the Patriots.  Point recorded wins at #1, #4, #5, and #6 singles for the 5-4 win.

The Patriots will return to the court Friday, March 9, when they host second-ranked Lindsey Wilson in their MSC opener. First serve is set for 3 p.m.
