Georgetown, KY – The UC men's tennis players
Aatu Merenheimo and
Luis Montull have advanced to the semifinals of the doubles bracket, while
Martin Barbier has advanced to the quarterfinals of the singles bracket on the second day of competition at the NAIA ITA Southeast Regional Thursday.
In doubles, Merenheimo and Montull defeated fifth-seed of Choopat Suvimolstean and Aquille Trotman of Asbury in the quarterfinals. The duo advanced to the semifinals against the winner of top-seed Castellon/Kostka vs. fifth-seed O'Keefe/Sevcik.
Barbier, the fourth-seed in the region, defeated Martin Munoz of Campbellsville in the third round to advance to the quarterfinals against Steven Espinoza of Lindsey Wilson.
The Patriots will return to the court Saturday, September 22, for the third of competition at the NAIA ITA Southeast Regional. Play will be moved to the Top Seed Tennis Club in Nicholasville, KY due to court conditions.
