UC would hold Campbellsville to a three-and-out to start the game and would answer quickly. After picking up a quick first down to move the ball to the UC 32-yard line, it was
Josiah Robbins going deep to
Darius Young, connecting on a 68-yard TD pass. The extra point from
Devon McMillin was no good, giving UC a 6-0 lead. After trading possessions, Campbellsville would get themselves on the board with a 27-yard field goal to cut the lead to 6-3. The Patriots would respond though on the last play of the first quarter. Robbins would find his favorite receiver of the night once again as Young would streak down the middle of the field for a 41-yard TD strike. With the ball inside their own red zone, Robbins would be strip sacked as the Tigers would recover on the UC three yard line. Knocking on the door to the end zone, UC's defense would come up huge with a forced fumble from
Kendall Adams-Young as
Demone (DJ) Smith recovered and rumbled up to the UC 44-yard line. After a short run, Robbins would air it out again, this time finding
Brandon Stuckey down the sideline for a 52-yard TD pass. The point after was good as UC took a 20-3 lead into the half.

On the next drive, Campbellsville would answer with a 35-yard TD run on a jet sweep from Blake Baker, cutting the lead back to 27-10 entering the fourth.
