Marietta, GAShea West netted a career-high five goals to lead the third-ranked UC women's lacrosse team to a 16-4 win over (RV) Life in their inaugural Mid-South Conference game. The Patriots had a trio of players' record five points in the game.

Cumberlands (9-1; 1-0) came out strong as Emily Heim scooped the initial draw control, raced up field and found Katie Brewer for a goal 20 second into the first half.  Life tied the score before Kelsey Fearing converted a free position attempt into a goal for her 11th goal of the season to make it 2-1 with 27:30 remaining.  After the two teams traded goals, Brewer found Amanda Phillips cutting towards the cage for a goal to make it 4-2.

Jaclyn Berry netted two of UC's next three goals to extend the lead to 7-2 midway through the first half.  A minute later, Trinity Brown forced a Running Eagle turnover and scooped the ground ball and on the ensuing possession Katie Brewer tallied an unassisted goal to make it 8-2. Life (5-2; 0-1) cut the lead to 8-3 with 12:27 remaining in the first half. The scored stayed that way until the 28 second mark when West put a well-placed shot past the goalie to give Cumberlands a 9-3 lead at the break.

Heim begin the second half by forcing a Life turnover, picking up the ground ball and firing it into the cage for a goal.  West and Heim added back-to-back goals to push the lead to 12-3 with 12:18 remaining.  Life cut the lead to 13-4, before West and Berry added two goals apiece for the 16-4 final.

Heim recorded three goals, two assists, seven draw controls, and three cause turnovers, while Berry finished with four goals and an assists. Brewer chipped in four points, four ground balls, and three caused turnovers.
