Williamsburg, KY- A balanced attack led the UC women's soccer team to improve to 2-0 on the season after taking down Cincinnati Christian Eagles 6-1 this Saturday night at the UC Soccer Complex. Both Shara Randez and Ryann Bryant recorded multiple goals on the match.
 
The Eagles came out strong against UC for first 22 minutes of the match before Randez put the Patriots on the scoreboard with an impressive shot from 30 yards out. Over the course of the next 15 minutes, the two teams split possession time to keep the score at 1-0.  A duo of passes from Alba Lorca and Randez set Jillian Zurborg up with a perfect shot just inside the far post to give UC a 2-0 advantage with 9:00 remaining in the first half. A pair of blocks by the Eagles backline helped hold the Patriots at bay keeping the score 2-0 going into halftime.
 
The Patriots continued their offensive barrage into the second half when Randez recorded her second goal of the night off a Micha Harris assist putting UC up 3-0 against CCU in the 54'. Harris had the magic touch of the night as she got involved in the next two goals for the Cumberlands. Freshman Kyla Lloyd made it a 4-0 lead with a quick touch off a pass from Harris who put the ball past the Eagle's backline in the 68'. A goal kick from Nicole Panis to Harris allowed her to pass up to Bryant just outside the box for a far-side goal making it 5-0 for the Patriots.
 
The Eagles refused to be shutout as Corinne Windisch put CCU on the board with a goal off a free-kick just outside the box in the 84', making the score 5-1 in favor of the Patriots. Bryant rounded out the scoring for the night with a solo goal, off a deflected cross, putting the final score at 6-1.
 
With tonight's win, head coach Steve Hamilton surpasses Aron Bassoff becoming UC's all-time wins leader with 44.
