Williamsburg, KY- Coming off an impressive season highlighted by a trip to the NAIA National Tournament, the Patriots football team is gearing up for an even stronger campaign this year. A huge addition to the team, Walker Dunn, looks to be a name that every Patriots fan should know

Hailing from Pulaski, TN, Dunn was a tri-sport athlete for Giles County High School. Competing in football, basketball, and track and field for the Bobcats, Dunn amassed several accolades across his three seasons. In track and field, Dunn competed in the High Jump event, placing tenth at the 2019 Tennessee State Championship with a height of 6'3". On the field, Dunn played defensive back for the Bobcats and helped lead his team to the third round of the state tournament his senior year. Individually, he earned a pair of All Region honors for football. First earning the All-Region Defensive Back award in 2019, Dunn followed that up with the Most Versatile Player All-Region accolade the next year.

Although he grew up near Mid-South rival Martin Methodist, Dunn chose UC because of it's incredible facilities and resources. "The campus is absolutely gorgeous and the coaching staff is amazing," Dunn adds, "The facilities are the best in the NAIA, so it was a no brainer."

The Patriots finished 10-2 (6-1 MSC) on the year and battled to the second round of the NAIA National Tournament before being defeated by Marian University. Head coach Matt Rhymer expects Dunn to have a huge impact on the team going even farther this year, "Walker is going to have a huge impact in our backfield and he's got a natural leadership ability that is going to make him that much of a better player as he grows." Rhymer continues, "We are very excited to have him as a Patriot and look forward to his debut in the Spring."

Looking ahead to the season, Dunn states, "I have a special group of teammates and we work to make each other better every day to prepare for the season.

The Patriots Football team will take the turf again on February 19, 2021 at 6pm. when they host the Cumberland Phoenix. Fan attendance rules will be updated as the kickoff date nears, with live stats available here, and live video available here.
