AUSTIN, TX – After another impressive year in the classroom while leading the Patriots' special teams unit,
Job Matossian was named to the 2025 CSC Academic All-America First Team, CSC officials announced Tuesday afternoon. Matossian becomes just the sixth athlete in program history to earn CSC Academic All-America honors.
Matossian earns first-team honors as a punter, after handling most of the kicking and punting duties for the Patriots over the last four years. This season, Matossian punted 39 times for 1559 yards, averaging 39.97 yards per punt which ranks seventh in the NAIA this season. Out of his 39 attempts, the senior recorded just three touchbacks, pinned his opponents inside the 20 13 times, and kicked three balls over 50 yards while not getting blocked once.
The Maryville, TN native also made five field goals for the Patriots offense this season with a long of 42, which he drilled on the road at Cumberland University. Matossian also hit 36-37 PAT's for the Pats.
Matossian caps off his historic career with his CSC Academic All-America honors, which he adds to an already impressive resume which includes a pair of NAIA All-American seasons, four MSC All-Conference honorees, eight-time MSC POW, UC's program leader in FG's made in a season and in a career, and second all-time in average yards per punt. He becomes the sixth athlete in program history to earn CSC honors.
The CSC Academic All-America® program recognizes student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically, requiring a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 and significant on-field achievement. Matossian's dedication on and off the field further highlight the commitment to excellence within the University of the Cumberlands football program.
