Williamsburg, KY – Patriots baseball center fielder Bryan Leef has earned Mid-South Conference player of the week honors for his impressive four-game showing that included four home runs and 11 RBIs. This is the second MSC honor for the senior, with the first coming during his junior campaign in April of 2019.

In four games, Leef notched a team best batting average of .529 while slugging nine hits including four home runs. The senior's 11 RBIs on the week puts him at a team-high 20 on the season. Leef was responsible for nine of the Patriots runs while stealing three bases during the period.

On February 25, Bryan Leef had his best outing to date, going 4-5 with a homerun, five RBIs, and a stolen base in the 10-8 win over Union. Leef's four hits and five RBIs mark career highs in both categories for the California native.

In game one of the series against Huntington, Leef went 2-3 with four RBIs and pair of home runs. Leef managed three runs scored in the contest and the Patriots went on to win 11-2. On Sunday, Leef pulled off late inning heroics, crushing a two-run walk-off shot to left field in the 15th inning that secured the 6-4 win for UC. Leef wrapped up the Sunday series with Huntington with a trio of hits, two RBIs and a stolen base.

Leef boasts a team-high batting average of .365 on the season following week three's standout performance as the Patriots improved to 17-1. With eight home runs overall, Leef ranks 10th in the NAIA while his 56 total bases ranks in the top 15.

The Patriots return to the diamond on Friday, March 6, as they travel to Campbellsville to take on the Tigers in their Mid-South Conference debut. The teams will play a four game series with Friday's game one scheduled for 2 PM.
