NAIA Top 10 Coaches' Poll
Kansas City, MO – With their season ramping up as championships are just around the corner the UC men's swimming team earned 63 points to remain ranked second in the NAIA Coaches' Top-10 Poll, announced by the national office Friday. The Patriots boost 27 swims that rank in the top-ten of their respective event, including one mark that is an NAIA-best.
UC has started the season 4-0, including consecutive wins over ranked opponents. Cumberlands has 13 individual times that are ranked in the top-five.
Cumberlands hit the water for the first time in 2021 tomorrow, January 23, as they host Bethel and Midway in their final home meet of the season. It will serve as their final tune-up ahead of the conference championships and prior to the start of the meet, UC will honor its lone senior,

Senn,
Enzo Esteves, and
John Morgan McDonald lead the way for UC in the water. Senn holds the Patriots lone NAIA top-ranking as he went 16:17.90 to win the 1650 free at the Asbury Invite. The senior has also recorded top-ten times in the 500 free (4:43.75), 400 IM (4:11.51), and the 200 fly (1:58.92).
Esteves is currently ranked third in both the 50 free (21.16) and the 100 free (46.76) after his performance during the Loyola Virtual Meet. McDonald's time of 116:20.34 in the 1650 free has him sitting second in the NAIA. The junior is also ranked fifth in the 500 free with a time of 4:42.29.
Freshman Martian Herion and
Daniel Ruiz Ramis have both notched top-five times so far this season. Herion went 51.01 to be ranked third in the 100 fly, while Ramis' 4:42.19 at the Asbury Invite is fourth-best in the NAIA. Both swimmers have a pair of additional top-ten marks each.
Charles Wolfram clocked a 1:55.19 in the 200 fly to be ranked fourth in the NAIA.
Mikolaj Kala,
Nicolas Cecioni, and
Evan Hawkins all have multiple top-ten performances. Kala has gone 57.41 and 2:04.19 in the 100 and 200 breast to be ranked fifth and sixth. Cecioni has posted the seventh fastest time in the 100 back (52.68) and the 200 back (1:59.03). Hawkins has tallied top-ten swims in the 1650 free, 400 IM, and the 500 free.
In addition to their individual success, Cumberlands has the second fastest time in the 400 free relay and the 400 medley relay, while the 200 free relay, 800 free relay, and 200 medley relay are all ranked in the top-five.
Keiser earned all seven first-place votes and 70 points to be atop the poll. Midland is ranked third with 54 points, while Asbury and Olivet Nazarene round out the top five. MSC rivals Loyola, Lindsey Wilson and Life are all receiving votes.
