Individual and Team Scores
Cincinnati, OH - The Cumberlands women's bowling team earned a third-place finish in the Cincinnati Collegiate Classic on Sunday. The Patriots maintained their placement after entering day two of the tournament in third place finishing with a total of 8,668 pins.
UC hit a combined total of 3,814 pins during their final four games on Sunday. This included their game six performance when the Patriots hit 1,039 pins, which gave them the third highest pin count for an individual game, all day.
Shining bright for Cumberlands was
Kiara Abanto, who knocked down a total of 1,854 pins during her nine-game run. Her spectacular play gave Abanto an average of 206 pins per-game and earned her a runner-up finish and All-Tournament Team selection. Pikeville's Kristina Catoe hit 1,858 pins and took the number one spot by just four pins.
Senior
Mickayla Shannon placed 15
th after hitting a total of 1,644 pins during the tournament.
Kaitlyn Egan and
Ashley Nelson also found themselves on the top-35 leaderboard have knocking down 1,598 and 1,497 pins, respectfully.
The tournament consisted of twelve teams from the Mid-South Conference with the highest combined team-score deciding the winner. Martin Methodist took the tournament crown after hitting a total of 9,013 pins with Pikeville taking second place.
UC will be back in action on February 6
th when they take part in the third conference event of the season in Smyrna, TN.
