Williamsburg, KY – Cumberlands head women's basketball coach
Rick Reeves has announced the Patriots 2021-22 schedule that will feature a full 30 game slate and two exhibitions. The Patriots will host 17 games at the O. Wayne Rollins Center, which is the most home games that UC has played since at least 2000.
"I'm really excited about the season and am eager to get things started," said Coach Reeves. "We have a tough non-conference schedule, which should challenge our team and make them better heading into conference play."
The Patriots open their season with back-to-back AAC opponents when they take on Montreat and Reinhardt. UC's season opener against the Cavaliers is set for Wednesday, October 27, as the Patriots look to improve to 7-0 in the all-time series. The following week, Cumberlands faces Reinhardt on November 1 at 6 p.m. It's the first of ten games against an opponent that qualified to the NAIA National Tournament last season.
"Reinhardt and Montreat are a great test for our players early in the season as we try to build on last year's success," said Coach Reeves.
UC remains at home that week to host the Patriot Classic, which features four games over a two-day span. Cumberlands host Miami Hamilton on November 5
th, before taking on Alice Lloyd on November 6
th. College of Coast Georgia is the fourth team at the Classic and they will take the court prior to UC's games.
Cumberlands will have two more tune ups before starting conference play beginning with Indiana University East on Nov. 9
th. It marks the first meeting between the two schools and serves as UC's first road test of the season as they travel to Richmond, IN. The Patriots will remain on the road and travel to NCAA DI Murray State for an exhibition on November 15
th.

For the first time since the 2016-17 season, the Patriots open Mid-South Conference play hosting Georgetown. That game is set for November 18, while UC will host Campbellsville two days later in what is their first match-up since February 29, 2020. Cumberlands closes out November traveling to Dayton, TN to take on the reigning AAC Tournament Champions Bryan (Nov. 23).
December will see the Patriots play in seven games with four of them away from Williamsburg. Cumberlands opens the month traveling to UT Southern (Dec. 2) and Life (Dec. 4) for conference games. The Patriots return to the Bluegrass State to host Wilberforce (Dec. 6) and West Virginia Tech on Dec. 11. UC went a combined 5-0 against these opponents last season.
The following week sees the Patriots travel up I75 to Crestview Hills to take on NAIA national runner-up Thomas More (Dec. 14), before hosting Shawnee State on December 18. UC closes out its 2021 portion of its schedule on New Year's Eve as they face Eastern Kentucky in an exhibition game.
2022 sees the Patriots play in 16 consecutive conference games with nine of them taking place in January. UC opens this stretch with three games the first week beginning at Pikeville on January 3, before coming home to face Freed-Hardeman and Bethel on Jan. 6 and Jan. 8.
UC closes out the first half of conference play traveling to Lindsey Wilson (Jan. 13) and Cumberland (Jan. 16). The Patriots return home the following week for a rematch against Life on January 20, before hosting UT Southern two days later.
Cumberlands closes out the month with a three-game road swing going to Campbellsville (Jan. 27), Georgetown (Jan. 29), and Shawnee State (Feb. 3). After their longest road trip of the season, UC returns home for a four-game home stretch beginning with Thomas More on February 5.
The Patriots remain home against for three games in a week taking on Pikeville (Feb. 7), Cumberland (Feb. 10), and Lindsey Wilson (Feb. 12). Cumberlands closes out their season on the road against Bethel and Freed-Hardmen the following week.
The MSC Tournament will take place in Bowling Green, KY with the top eight-seeds qualifying for the tournament. All of the Patriots home games can be seen on the UC Sports Network
