Williamsburg, KY – Coming off a 3-0 week, Patriots outside hitter Lily Chapman caps off the week by earning her first Mid-South Conference Player of the Week award this season. The Iron Station, NC product garnered the MSC Attacker of the Week honor, announced by the conference Monday afternoon.

"We are so proud of Lily," said Head Coach Kathryn Hart. "She has been improving each year as well as each game this year. She has been the staple of our offense and we are so excited that she has been awarded attacker of the week."

Chapman performed well, notching three double-doubles for the Patriots, as she tallied 56 kills, averaging 4.66 kills per set, 44 digs, averaging 3.66 digs per set, two aces, as well as five blocks. She opened the week with 15 kills and 15 assists in a 3-1 win over Pikeville. During the match she averaged 3.75 kills per set.

The junior followed that performance up with another double-double, this time notching a season-high 24 kills and 16 digs in a five-set win over Georgetown. She averaged 4.80 kills per set in that match and converted every time UC needed a big point. Chapman finished the week off with a 17 kills and 13 digs performance over Montreat. In that match she averaged 5.66 kills per set.

For the season, Chapman has tallied 388 kills, averaging 3.80 kills per set. She also has 19 aces and 238 digs. This season Chapman has surpassed the 1,000-kill milestone and is currently setting in fourth place in career kills will 1,203 kills.

The Patriots are 18-8 on the season and have won four straight matches. For their next match, the Patriots are back on the road to take a trip to Portsmouth, OH for a conference match against Shawnee State on Thursday October 28 at 6 PM. For Live Video click here. For Live Stats click here.
